We are delighted to announce our newest team member, Amanda Leonard. Amanda will be our Paediatric Team Lead and Physiotherapist.

While earning a BSc in Equine Science, Amanda studied the effects of Riding for the Disabled and Hippotherapy on health. This sparked a passion for using movement to aid children’s development and rehabilitation. She qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2014 from the University of the West of England.

Amanda spent nine years with the children’s therapies team at the University Hospitals Birmingham. She progressed to Advanced Physiotherapist and then Team Leader. She specialises in managing rehabilitation from injuries, including spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. She also manages long-term or life-limiting conditions, including cerebral palsy, rare genetic conditions, complex medical issues, and muscular dystrophies.

Commenting on her appointment, Amanda said:

“I’m thrilled to join Healing Touch and look forward to leading the Paediatric Team. It is a privilege to be in a position where I can work with clients and make a true and lasting difference in their lives. To witness first-hand the real-life impact of medical and therapeutic advances and incorporate this with evidence-based practice is so exciting to be a part of and is the most rewarding job to have.”

Amanda will lead our paediatric rehab team and coordinate and oversee care for children with neurological conditions. She will manage our multidisciplinary team, which includes clinical therapists, assistant rehab practitioners, and personal trainers.

Amanda also plays a crucial role in developing and implementing policies. She monitors patient progress and conducts regular evaluations to optimise outcomes.

As part of our ongoing growth trajectory, we have several new team members joining Healing Touch. Clinical Director Kay Ganguly said:

“We are delighted Amanda has joined Healing Touch and will be instrumental in leading our children’s physiotherapy services. We wish Amanda all the best in her new role at Healing Touch.”
