Sometimes the first step in rehabilitation is simply finding a way to connect 🤝When Thomas came to us following a traumatic brain injury, he was living with reduced fatigue threshold, emotional dysregulation, difficulties with coordination and proprioception, and challenges with attention and information retention.At first, engagement was hard. So we started where he was.Through simple, play-based activities, we focused on building a therapeutic relationship and helping Thomas feel more settled in the work. Over time, those early sessions developed into more sports-led therapeutic activities, including basketball, resistance training and complex functional training, always paced carefully around fatigue 🏀Over six months, we saw meaningful progress. Thomas became more engaged in sessions, more able to follow and retain instructions, and more motivated to challenge himself.
