As we prepare to open the doors of our new specialist rehabilitation centre this September, we are proud to announce the introduction of LiteGait® and GaitSens® to our list of treatments, a state-of-the-art therapy designed to support children and young people with neurological rehabilitation needs.
This technology-led approach provides a safe, adaptable, and highly effective therapy for clients with conditions such as cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and more. It’s a powerful new addition to our range of therapies, enabling confidence, safety, and independence at every stage of recovery.
A breakthrough in paediatric and young adult gait rehabilitation
At Healing Touch Rehab, we understand that every recovery journey is unique; for some, the first step may quite literally be standing for the first time and for others, it’s about retraining balance, stride, or symmetry. Our new system allows us to support every stage of mobility, from early standing through to complex gait correction, all without the fear of falling.
Using a partial or full weight-bearing harness system and a smooth treadmill platform, clients can safely practise walking with live visual and auditory feedback. This enables real-time gait correction, helping improve coordination, posture, timing, and step symmetry in a supportive and controlled environment.
“We are thrilled to bring this advanced technology into our new rehab centre,” says Clinical Director Kay Ganguly, “it offers a safe and dynamic way to build confidence, independence, and functional ability, all within an environment that is supportive, secure, and tailored to each child’s needs.”
Clinically advanced, individually tailored
Whether a client is recovering from a spinal cord injury or learning to walk with a prosthesis, the system adapts to them, not the other way around. With ultra-slow and steady speeds, our therapists can observe movement patterns and tailor interventions with precision and purpose.
