Due to business growth and our expanding client base, we are looking to recruit a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist (Band 6 & Band 7) to work as part of our team covering Yorkshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire, and Lincolnshire areas.

About the role

The successful candidate will be working towards service development and supervising junior members of the team and having your own clinical case load and will provide appropriate, timely and effective occupational treatment to both adults and young people with complex needs within the community.

You will be responsible for handling your own case load, providing assessments and treatment for clients who have a range of conditions which may include cerebral palsy, downs syndrome, head injuries, spinal injuries, muscular dystrophy, developmental delay, DCD, autism, sensory processing difficulties, ADHD, fine motor and perceptual difficulties.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing assessment and intervention to children within schools with a range of handwriting, coordination, fine and gross motor, concentration, and sensory difficulties.
  • Completing professional Occupational Therapy reports following assessment with comprehensive evaluation and analysis of need and providing outcome objectives and recommendations for the child and family.
  • Create and deliver individual intervention programmes based on assessment provided including smart goals and review process.
  • Liaising with SENCOs, teachers, and parents in relation to support provided.
  • To advocate for the role of OTs within schools and provide training and education to teaching staff in order to support pupils’ progress.

Essential criteria for the role include:

  • Graduate Diploma, Ordinary Degree, or Honours Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration and RCOT membership.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and other professionals through a range of methods (report writing, verbal, email, telephone etc).
  • Evidence of effective time management and organisational skills during management of own workload and to be flexible in working patterns to support the needs of clients and the overall
  • Evidence of positive post-graduate development.
