As the Healing Touch Rehab team continues to celebrate the opening of our brand new in-person clinic, there have also been some exciting team updates over the past few months.
We are thrilled to have had Amanda Leonard, our Paediatric Team Lead, on our team for one whole year now, and have recently welcomed Neurological Chartered Physiotherapist, Anna Maria Haritakis, to continue our growth and expansion.
Commemorating one year
Amanda joined us in the second half of 2024 and in just one year, she has set the tone for what true leadership looks like. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership and guiding her team with professionalism while keeping compassion at the heart of everything she does. Her ability to balance people management with a deep commitment to the families we support has been truly inspiring.
Amanda leads our paediatric rehab team and coordinates and oversees care for children with neurological conditions. She manages our multidisciplinary team, which includes clinical therapists, assistant rehab practitioners, and personal trainers and also plays a crucial role in developing and implementing policies. She monitors patient progress and conducts regular evaluations to optimise outcomes.
What makes her leadership so special isn’t just her expertise, but the personal qualities she brings every day, her calm presence in challenging moments, her resilience in the face of pressure, and her natural ability to balance compassion with clear direction. She leads with sensitivity, kindness, and strength, inspiring both her colleagues and the families we serve.
Welcome to the team!
We’re also thrilled to introduce Anna Maria Haritakis to the team as a Neurological Chartered Physiotherapist. Anna is a passionate and highly experienced physiotherapist who brings over a decade of expertise to the world of neurological rehabilitation.
Anna’s work has spanned the Humber NHS Foundation Trust and York Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust, supporting clients with cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, neurological conditions, and more. Anna is trained and passionate about body shape distortion management and CPIP-UK (Cerebral Palsy Integrated Pathway).
She is a strong advocate for multidisciplinary, collaborative working and has led community exercise groups, contributed to various NHS initiatives, and supported people across diverse care settings from home visits to care homes and specialist services.
Congratulations all around
Clinical Director, Kay Ganguly, commented on the team milestones: “We’ve been extremely grateful to find such hard working and talented team members joining and growing with Healing Touch. I’d like to say a huge congratulations and thank you to Amanda on a fantastic first year and a big ‘welcome to the team’ to Anna, we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table in her first year and beyond!”
